V6 To V8: Wiring Question
V6 To V8: Wiring Question
I took the old carberated 2.8 out and unplugged all sorts of wires. I don't think they did anything because we took the ECM out of the car. So now I think I am left with a lot of ugly wires that don't do anything.
A lot of them came from around the carberator and stuff like that.
Is there any way to clean the engine compartment up and take out, "what I think", these useless wires.
Are they good for anything?
I know I need alternator, starter, temp sensor, and things like that but there are about a million wires that I don't know what to do with.
By the way the car is a 84 SC. Putting in a 85' 350 out of a Z28.

If you start separating the two wire bundles you'll find that one goes to the junction block by the master cylinder and the other goes out under the heater box. The heater box side is the computer harness and the other is the main harness. You might find that they have a wire in common for the alternator, at least on my 87 the harnesses shared one common splice for the alt trigger wire. To eliminate this just cut on either side of the splice and resplice the wire back together.

I've got you bracketed - '82 driver & '86 donor car.
It's as he described.
