v6 to 350

How much harder is it to go from a v6 to a 350, compared to a 305 to 350 swap? I'm thinking about doin it on a 86 firebird. The new engines going to carbereuted too. it's a manual tranny. what was the differnce form a 305 and a v6.suspension? motor mounts?, tranny?

Welcome aboard.

There is basically no difference between going from V6 to 305 and going from V6 to 350. That's because there's basically no difference, as far as mounting the engine in the chassis and feeding it, between a 305 and 350.

Do a search on "V6 to V8", or something along that line, and you'll find that a lot of parts need to be changed between V6 & V8. So many, in fact, that the best way to do this is to have a complete factory V8 donor car from which to get these parts (even if you don't use the engine itself). Also, in order for this to be "worth it", the V6 car has to have some irreplaceable sentimental value to keep you from selling it and buying a factory V8 car, because the swap will cost you more than the sell/buy route.
