Pre 1986 350 to T5 clutch issues anyone?

Has anyone out there used a T5 mated up to a pre 1986 350? I seem to be having clutch release problems (or equivalent problem causing gearbox not to engage gear). Any similar experiences? What clutches have you used?

Andy.

I've got a T5 behind a '65 vintage 283 and haven't experienced any clutch troubles. I'm using an OEM flywheel and a Centerforce pressure plate, stock disc.

I saw 4th gen and a 3rd gen F-body when I was in the UK this summer, they look too wide for the roads!

sounds like your slave cylinder or clutch master is going bad or has air in the system, some you can bleed and some you can't go down to the dealership and buy a tech lunch and i bet he can tell you how to fix it,i had the same problem a few years back but i can't remember how i fixed it,but it turned out to be simple and cheap. good luck,Doc

Thank you all!
Turned out to be a tight pilot bush in the back of the crank! Dropped the car on the floor, started it in 5th gear with the clutch down and the input shaft wore a bit of the pilot away!! Perfect now.

Unfortunately, I have the wrong release bearing in (long one), so that hasn't helped either! Trans out again then. I'll try it with my eyes shut this time! I bet my tools can do this on their own now!

Andy.

Thanks again.
Andy.
