Hay guys first off thanks for reading my post but now to the important stuff. My camaro is guttless (2.8 mpi) and I have had it that way for two years I can't stand it any more. After the loss of my other car (suped up rice rocket sold due to $$ crisis) I decided that because I liked american cars anyway and I had one that I would wanted to make it sound like an earthquake. My question is L89 or LT1 and where i can get one that is eigther rebuilt and priced well or one that is priced so cheap i won't mind spending my own time to rebuild it from the grounded up. My final question is what trany do you recomend keep in mind I had a performance manual befor and tore it up and am thinking that because this car will have even more power I might need a auto. Lastly write your posts as if I was a 2yr old b/c sometimes I just don't get stuff.

Everything depends on time, money and what your working with. Is it an auto or man tranny? How much money are you willing to spend? How much time do you plan on putting into it or are you going to have someone else do the swap for you? The LT1 would definitely be the way to go. As for transmissions, a T-56 would go well if you went with a man. If you want to go with an auto, I'd look into either a TH350 or TH400. I've got a B&M 700R4 that seems to do me just fine. Give us a little more info and in the mean time search the boards, the answers your looking for are out there.
