2.8 wiring

I had posted before about my EFI-Carb. wiring concerns, and I am just now starting to get into the wiring and pull it all apart. Can anyone give me any idea of which wires I need to keep? I am not sure which ones need to stay or be cut out. I know that my starter, headlight, and turn signals and all of that need to stay, but there are about three 2" around plastic tubes full of wires that just kinda seem to lead no where. Can I just cut off all of the EFI and go from there? also, am I going to be able to keep the stock speedo or am I going to need to switch it out with an aftermarket? Thanks in advance.

You will be able to keep the stock speedo, you wont even have to do anything to it. What I did on my swap, I left all the wires in, got the engine started and made sure everything worked(guages, starter, alt., etc) then I cut out every other wire that wasnt going to anything. You shouldnt even have to touch the headlight wires, they should be in a seperate tube attached on the frame rail. It also helps to have a wireing diagram. Good Luck!!
