HELP!! 2.8 to 350 problems!
Ok, I know there are knowledgeable people here that have done this swap. I've talked to some of you before, but I need everyone to get in on this one. I'm still having wiring problems. When the 2.8 was pulled, lots of wires were cut. So, we're slowly piecing everything back together. However, my very electrically and mechanically inclined friend wants to ditch the ecm. I don't know if this is such a good idea. What do you all think? What did you do for your swap? I have an 89 RS and am swapping in a carbeurated 350.
As a side note: I installed iroc springs in the front of the car, and it sat way to high, then I installed 305 RS springs and it sits now at the same level if not higher. Am I doing something wrong?
Please respond ASAP!

Unless you are using a computer controlled carb and distributor, and all of the supporting cast of sensors, you've basically "ditched" the computer, anyway. All you need out of the original harness are the power and gage functions that you are retaining.
Actually physically removing the ECM and harness does basically nothing for you.

all you need are the starter wires...fat pink wire to distributer...thin brown wire to the tach side I know you are using HEI.....ground straps....alternator wire I would need to check the wire color...leave the darn thing in...get the car running...THEN start deleting the 500 wires you dont need.....you will need a v-8 tach...might as well go with mechanical gauges......as for the springs......
