tbi - tpi fuel pump Question

Swapping TBI to TPI. I have heard of putting another fuel pump inbetween the tank and the engine to get the pressure up. My question is...

Can the TBI pump keep up with the TPI pump?

Yes. The TBI pump had good volume (assuming good operating condition) but is simply not designed to work at the high pressures a TPI pump is.

So you're saying the TBI pump needs to run as well as the new inline TPI one? Surely the new one will pull through the old TBI one at rest? My mechanical pump pulls through the TBI one with no problem. Or am I wrong?

Andy.

Ok, I'll drop the tank and change to a TPI pump.

You may not be wrong, but that doesn't mean it's a good idea.
