Hey Guys-
I was looking @ possibly getting a new 305 and dropping in my new 350 crate engine from my now totaled IROC. I was wondering if the wiring harness was the same or if i need to get a different one? The wiring harness for a V-6 is different than the 350 too, right?

I would do a search but the search feature is down right now and need to know soon so i can decide what car i to look for.

I dropped a 350 into mine swapping out my 305 and used the existing wiring harness. The only wiring mod I did was set up a switch to manually turn my fan on or off, and that was only because I didn't want to spend the $70 for one of the kits to make it turn on sooner than 220 degrees...

The only other thing I did was get a chip from BHarris until I could start programming my own chips. The BHarris chip was great, got me on the road, and I actually used it through my breaking period for the rebuilt engine.

 

Does anyone know about the v-6 wiring harness? Is it the same as the 350 by any chance? Does it also matter about the year of the car?

as far as the v6 goes the wirring harness is very different because of how they are set up they dont have as many sensors. if you get a v6 car go to painlees wiring for a harness they are great.
