Success Wiring with Minimal Expense
Success Wiring with Minimal Expense
Last night I was able to get the car running.
A few things I picked up a long the way.
Vats bypass module by Painless. Painless Part # 64024 ($53 at Summit Racing)
This module is has three leds. One for the fuel enable wire going to the cpu. (Pin #25 of Connector A) One for a 5V reference that can be pulled many places. (One of which is Pin #28 of Connector B). Another wire for chasis ground.
A huge must for the doit yourselfer is a good copy of some wiring diagrams. The best I found was published by Mitchell. I found this in the local library and made a few copies. I also picked up some copies for the '89 camaro but didn't use them as much.
Following the schematics I wired in the necessary fuses for the fuel injectors, battery feed and ignition ($15 electrical fuses and connectors).
I picked up a bosch fuel pump for $200 from a local speed shop. Fuel filter for ~$10. Mis parts (fuel line, fittings) for ~$15.
Definately need a multimeter to test for continuity and some voltage checks.
A lot of the details are all in how clean you want the job to be.
Anyone that has questions I am willing to help as much as possible. Information is the key.
Gus
