My car was stolen recently, but I got it back but makes a horrible internal noise in the engine. I may have spun a rod or something. Anyway, since I plan on having it fixed, I was just going to build up to a 383 stroker. The only problem I have is that I don't know if the engine is standard bore or .030 over or whatnot. If it's standard, than what does it usually cost to get the thing bored over. I have a 73 350 4-bolt main block. My compression rate is at 10:1. I don't have all of the specs of the engine though.

It's extremely unlikely that it's standard.... just at a guess, I'd say the odds are around 20 to 1 that it's already been bored.
If you're going to make a 383 out of it, then the cost of boring, by itself, will be totally insignificant in the overall project. Don't worry about it. If that cost is an issue to you, then you don't need to be tackling a 383 in the first place. It's not like you just buy the "kit" and install it, there's all sorts of hidden costs. If you have enough budget to build a 383, then boring should already be part of it, since a 383 by definition is a .030" over 350 block with a 3.75" stroke (400 stroke) crank.
Don't buy pistons or rings, or a "kit" if it includes those things, until after you actually have looked at you block and know for certain what your bore dimensions will be. Guessing will do nothing but cost you extra money.

thnx
I just wasn't sure. I will have well over 2k for this. That's what I was planning on doing anyway, wait until the shop is able to get the dimensions and then I'll go out and get the parts I need.
