305tbi to 350tbi

ok i did a search already didnt get what i wanted. heres what i got, 92 RS 305 TBI...the motor blew at 210,000 miles and i found it was cheaper to buy a 350 motor than rebuild the 305.....

after looking around i finally found a 94 truck motor with low miles....all it is a long block tbi motor...with only a water pump..
what kind of stuff am gonna have to upgrade to make this motor run like a 350 than a 305 motor...

i know im gonna have to get another chip (what would u recommend and where to get)

also what kind of cam could i put in thats is strong...i want something that has a mean idle or stronger than lt1 cam....that is a good price...i may or may not do the cam swap if i cant afford...

(ill be running stock exhaust manifolds until i can afford headers)

rest of the mods are in the sig

What words and/or terms did you search for?

Your quote:
"what kind of stuff am gonna have to upgrade to make this motor run like a 350 than a 305 motor... "

I don't understand this.

If you are making a lot of mods to your engine, your best bet is to burn your own chip. I do not have any first hand experience with chip vendors.

TBI cams have been discussed and debated alot on this site.

Try this search term on the TBI board: TBI AND cam

This link is just one of 1580 topics that appear with the above search. Maybe it will get you started.

I have kept everything. It runs strong. I built my own 350 with a performance cam. It's making around 300 hp and 375 lbsft of torque. I am told though I don't get enough fuel at higher rpms. I'm going to try some bigger injectors. I tried some before but maybe they're too big. If you really want to be safe get the injectors for a light duty 350 pickup and the computer. Make sure the pickup has all the same options.
