L05 Motor Swap (Caprice 350)

Has anyone done this swap? 305-350?
I have done it and the car runs good, but there is a metal on metal type noise coming from the engine compartment when I have the car at a low steady rpm. It doesn't happen all the time, but it can be REALLY loud and irritating (makes my car look like a piece of crap)
I read on the Chevrolet service program that I have that the l05 has a piston cylinder that wasn't properly bored and that causes a clangy sound. Now I would have hoped this information would have been discovered before I bought the engine last summer since it is an engine from a 1992-1993 caprice (new of course) and you would think in 11 years they could have fixed that. Does anyone else have this engine and get a clangy sound?

I think I'm going to write to Gm and see if I can get them to give me a letter or something that I can take to my dealer and have them order the kit and install it with no charge to me because it's not overly fair that I bought a new engine with a factory problem. What do you guys think, should I write them??

If necessary I might be able to record a sample of what the sound is but it wouldn't be all that high quality. Let me know what you guys think.
