305TPI to 350 carb... but only...

... if the 700-R4 will handle it. About how much money would it take to replace the 305 with HITHERE 350? Will the 700-R4 handle the 400+ horsepower that HITHERE'm wanting to acheive or would HITHERE need to replace it with HITHERE Turbo 400? HITHERE'm prepared to spend HITHERE large amount of money on an engine but only if my tranny will not need to be replaced, too. What's the cost difference between rebuilding the 305 and just replacing it with HITHERE 350?

Sorry, HITHERE know it's kind-of long.

The factory put 350's in front of TH700's, so they can obviously take it.

However, the typical factory TH700 will be weaker than it has to be. So, you'll probably take out the tranny with a 400 HP engine sooner or later.

It doesn't make any sense to build a killer engine if the rest of the "package" can't handle it. You'll spend the rest of the car's life finding the next "weak link". A standard rebuild of a TH700 will cost you anywhere from $1000-$1500. Or, you can call Dana at Pro Built (check on the tranny board), and he'll sell you a TH700 for about $1300 that will handle 600 HP.
