305 tbi to zz4 carb

Alright, I have decided after a couple years that it is time for the swap to bigger and better things. the 305 has had all she can handle. I have been looking and researching and everything seems to be pretty straight forward. I will be placing a carbed zz4 into my 92 camaro. I was just wanting someone to help me out with a few more questions or with the whole setup if someone has completed this task. Will removing the computer effect the starter and ignition system and also the fuel pump coming on? If so, I guess a little rewiring should do that right up. and also I was going to ask about hood clearance with a high rise intake. distributor clearance and things like that. I will be placing a 2 1/4" cowl on the car. Any help will be grealty appreciated. tips on what to do or what to look out for is also welcomed thanks

Well, I haven't done it, but I'll take a crack based on what I know and have heard.

Won't affect the starter. The ignition will need to be converted to non-computer controlled - you can use the power and tach wires going to your current distributor. The fuel pump wiring will have to be modified - rewire to retain the timed relay and oil pressure switch (schematics are well beyond my off-the-top-of-my-head knowledge). You'll also need a fuel pressure regulator. With the cowl, no problems with clearance unless you use a REALLY tall intake.

My only question is the fuel pump rewire... whats involved with that?
