Alternative to aftermarket vacuum pump

to help lack if vacuum by big cams..Is there an alternative vaucuum pump aside from aftermarket..Is there are cars where I can get some sort of vac pump and use it for heater/ac controls and power brakes?

Some 80's caddys and front wheel drive chevy (citation etc ) had a auxillary electric vacuum pump. Ton of 'em in the wreckers.
You can even buy them new from GM.

might want to consider a vacuum resuivor as well as a pump. i replaced an eletric pump on a caddy few years back, part from gm was around 200 dollars.

You know where I can get specific specs/size of reservoir?Would the one the same as our climate control vac uum reservoir be enough?are you talking about the vac pump for the air shocks?And what yr Cadillac..I have an 86 Cadillac parts car that has a working pump for the shocks..Any aftermarket reservoirs that are cheap..I didnteven think of the reservoir..thanks\

i've made them before out of 4" sch. 40 pvc pipe, you can get check valves and filters from dorman "help" line at most parts stores. just glued soem caps on the pipe and drilled and tapped it for some barbed fittings.

thanks..its like Vader's crankcase reservoir...What is the best way to plumb this?My idea is to have the vac pump draw from the reservoir to open air ..I would also connect manifold vacuum to the same reservoir.Then the rest of the accesories gets it vacuum from there..What do you think?
