If you do your research and have all the parts neccessary it could be done in a week.. that could be pushing it though. My swap doesn't really count since I rebuilt everything, not just swapped in the LT1..Depends alot on your wrenching knowledge, capabilities, friends who will help, and shop space/tools available..
Make sure you have the fudge factor down to an infintessimal level..
It is however my daily driver.. I sold my other car to finance the swap!

about 3months(nov to jan - just weekends, no holidays). I also had the block sent out and redone. and ordered the HOT cam kit and other mod materials. Currently getting a face lift as we speak. Going to be a daily driver until snow sets in - then I break out the Avalanche

I think it took me 8 days to get it completed it in order to start the car. First motor swap
1 month to have everything working perfect.
Since I learned the wiring pretty much by heart it would be easy to do it now,When I did the swap, it took me 8 days because I had to find everything by myself. Pretty much nobody at done it without custom harnesses.
If I had to do it again, 4 days would probably be enough considering nothing is damage or broken and also if I have all the parts that I would need.
Yes it is my daily driver.

If you have a nice aftermarket engine harness like the Speartech one that J's T/A used on his swap and you had all the parts there to do the swap.
One weekend is all that it would take.
Pull the old motor on friday after work.
Install the LT1 on Saturday morning/afternoon and start wiring it up.
Sunday morning, double check everything, fill with fluids, and fire it up and go driving.

A few months over this past winter. I was in no rush and most of the work was done on weekends. I also swapped in the LT1 radiator and fans, new LCA's, new sway bars and bushings/endlinks, and new fast ratio steering box while I was at it too though.
i noticed on the wiring diagram i have, it has many wires going to a fuse box..would i just run those wires to my fuse box? without the vats, i dont think i need many wires...i would need constant power to the ecm, ignition to the ecm, fuel pump power from the ecm, and of course all the wires to the engine..if i had TBI, couldnt i figure out the constant power, ignition, and fuel pump signals on my old computer, and splice it into the lt1 ecm..and then it should run? or am i just waaay off?
The way GM build wiring harness has pretty much been the same for all camaros
for example:
pink is "ignition power feed", orange is power feed from battery, things like that . so yes, you can match up the wires that where connected to the old tbi harness like the gauges and fuel pump.
Now the way you do it is to get a haynes or Chilton manual that will tell you which wire are which on the TBI,TPI ECM connectors (usually blue and black) and you just have to match the description of the wires on your LT1 harness
