swap 86 tpi 305 into 85 with blown 305 tpi
i have an 86 ta with a 305 tpi that still is very strong unfortunatly
the rest of the car needs to much work to bring it to the condition
i want. i recently got very lucky and got a 85 with a 305 tpi in mint condition fully loaded.only problem is a blown motor,im considering swaping 86 305 into my 85 i need info on this swap
to find out if i should even consider doing it or just rebuild the blown 305 in the 85.also is there any parts that i might want to swap off the 86 io make the 85 a better ta.any and all help and opinions i thank you for in advance .thanks joe Clrcrkfrk01@aol.com

Do the swap. Save yourself the headache. Also the 1985 and 1986 Trans-AM's are virtually identical. Same type of heads and valve covers. They are the older 3 bolt instead of center bolt like in 1987-1992 cars. As far as I know there are no options specific to 1986 cars that 1985 cars didn't have.
