i took out the spark plugs on my new motor to see if i was runnin lean or rich and i noticed a silver substance on the part where the spark plug screws in. It looked like silver paint.... strange. What is this?

Did you put the spark plugs in yourself?

Sounds like anti-seize compound. But, if you put the plugs in, you should know that.

Otherwise, it might be paint, but I'm betting on anti-seize.
