tpi wire harness removal

i posted on the tpi board, but no one responded.i have or had a 350tpi iroc.now i have a 427 dual quad monster.it is a 1987.i sold the other stuff to a fellow user.my question is,the harness seems to have taken everything with it,would it be easier to re-wire it all,or just get an old tpi harness and butcher it?will another harness work, like a tbi harness or something without so many wires?thanx and sorry so long

In my personal opinion, I would say wire everything yourself from square one, because if you go buy a TPI harness, they aren't exactly cheap. Do it yourself to save $$. What all are you wiring?

If that's the case then I would just go to a junkyard and get a complete harness for your application, then just delete the things you don't need or use.

get a tpi harness and use a small small screw driver to pull the pins off the wires you dont need. but also. if you pull a tpi harness apart, the wires that connect at the drivers side firewall. dont really connect to anything on the ecm harness. on my 87 350tpi the wires on that boot were 2 brown wires comin from the alternator, wire for the oil gauge wire for the temp sensor, large pink wire to the ignition coil. white wire to the ignition coil i assume for the tach. 2 thick red wires to the starter and maybe a couple more. but basically everything you need to make the car run and have gauges etc

thanx for the response again.i think that i will try to find a cheap one to modify so that i can just plug it in.should save a lot of hassle.
