The GM crate engines are all designed for 1986 or earlier vehicles. Many of them are designed for 1973 and earlier vehicles. This is according to GM's site.

Some things you need to understand:
1) There is no such thing as a "California emissions-legal" 3rd gen TBI 350.
2) The 350 HO engine is not emissions-legal in any car made after 1975.
3) If you want a 350 that you can get past the Smog *****, you're going to have to make it look exactly like the 305 in there now, with the exception of legal aftermarket parts (like upgraded ignition, exhaust, etc.). And make sure it runs as clean for the sniffer. And keep your mouth shut about it being a 350.
This is one engine you might be able to do the above with http://www.sdpc2000.com/cart.asp?act...id=128&pid=105
