Need a bit of advice please.

I own a 1990 TransAm GTA 305 TPI. At 130,000kms the engine is shot! I have small amounts of coolant in my oil and oil in my coolant, and It blows clouds of blue smoke at startup and at high throttle when cold.
Anyways I am fed up and am going to swap a 350 in in the next month so I have devised a bit of a plan and hopefully I can get some input on whether or not it is a good one.
I have 2 options available to me right now; I may be able to buy the engine out of my cousins 1990 vette, or I will just get a new short block (anyone have a good place in mind in the Lower mainland of BC?). What I am thinking is buying an LT1 intake and hot cam kit, and slapping them on the short block I will have. Now if I get the engine from my cousin the heads should work for this (I think?). I will also probably buy Hooker shorties to bolt on with my 3" cat and hooker cat-back. But what I am wondering is if this is going to work well? I figure this should give me about ~350hp? Oh yeah and before I do this I am putting on SFC's&STB, and rebuilding my front steering/suspension and springs all the way around. Where I am getting this money from? I dont know, but It needs to be done so I will find a way. Thanks for all the help you can give me!

that not the route I would go with, I think you'd be better off with spending the money on a big block conversion. Much better off -the line torque and powerband.

You are better off buying a real LT1 setup and hot-camming it. I believe the mods required for the LT1 intake retrofit can be expensive. Unless you get that L98 cheap it may not be worth it.

I think that the modified intakes are only like ~400 arent they. My friend bought one from a guy that decided not to use it for around 300 with everything including injectors, fittings, and throttle body.
