Parting out Z28's
Hey everyone, i just recently noticed a ad in a paper here about a guy parting out Z28 camaros, he has a 91, 96, 97, 02 models. So anyways i asked him about the 91' he said hed sell me the complete engine for $1800. It only has 44,000 miles on it. I also have access to a LT1 with a six speed for $3500, or a LS1 complete with an auto trans and computer and harness and all that for $4400. Right now i've got a V6 in my 89 RS. I was just wondering if these are good deals and if i should jump on them. Any help is appreciated thanks. Also i have a T5 right now so i would also need a 700R4 most likely or a T56

Without more details I think the LT1 can be had for around 3200 or less. 4400 is a good deal if the LS1 is an 02 engine assuming it has reasonable mileage on it.
the LS1 is just broken in, get the LS1. from what i hear it takes around 25,000 miles for the motor and drive train to fully loosen up for the LS1. the people keep getting faster times at the track the more miles they rack up on these babies.

Still a fair price. Try offering 4200 he will probably take it. 408TA hit the nail. These engines exhibit less wear over time because of the percision combustion control, etc.
