400 swap into a 88 TA

ok here's my QUESTIONS( i have many of them). im droping a 408 chevy sm blk into this car and its going to be carburated and im going to use the 700R4 with a shift kit if there not alot of clutch material in the pan. i want to use all the stock gauges in the car but i dont want the SES light staring me in the face all the time. will the gauges work with out the computer in it? will i have any power(electrical) at all with out the computer? i love the way the inside of the car looks , its very neat/clean looking and i want to keep it that way. by the way this car has a killer stereo for stock, its got an amp with a gain slider switch on the dash and EQ. i think it was an option. but anyway the other question is im swapping in a 4th gen rear end that has 3.36 gears and a posi(yes im norrowing it first). is there anybody who has these gears and a 700r4 running a 383 or 400. i want to know how much of a traction problem im going to have. the car has 87 IROC Z 16" wheels on it rate now, and i plan on using BFG comp T/A tires on the rear. i will be putting weld in frame conectors on it, and reinforcing the torque link, trailing arms, and pan hard bar. the motor generates around 470 lbs of torque and 410+ h.p.
oh yes i almost forgot, can i use the stock fuel pump with a regulater on it or will the pump just burn out because the pressure to the carb will only be 6-8 psi? i will be using some form of eletric pump with regulater. and another thing, is anybody using the RPM air gap with the stock hood and a 4"X14" air cleaner with no clearance problems. i think thats it, thanks.:lala:
