Pretty much. For the most part, except for deck height, a big block is a big block.

427 and 454 have the same bore, different stroke.

Is it a tall block (truck motor)? If it is, you'll have a great time with the intake, and getting it to fit in your car.

You could only use the 454 crank if you get 454 pistons for a tall block. That would be somewhat special, being as how there's no stock combo like that. Check Arias, Keith Black (but don't expect to find them in their Silvo-O-Lite re-boxes), etc. They'll be serious racing parts, like for Pro Mod motors, not budget street stuff.

You can get intakes from GM if you want a truck one; or from Dart and Brodix and a couple of people like that. Not much in between.

You used to could buy spacers that would allow you to put a regular big-block intake on one of those. Haven't seen any for at least a decade though. Most people that run a tall block in anything but a truck are stroking them to at least 500 CID and looking for at least 800 HP, so that's mostly what you'll find.

If you stick it in as is, expect your car to basically run like a dump truck or a school bus.... since that's what you've got, is a gas-burner medium truck motor. Very tiny port heads, "pea" (not even as big as a "peanut") cam, very low compression, etc.

Also, don't count on keeping a wiper motor, and maybe not a power brake booster. Hood clearance isn't as much of a problem as some of those other things.

You'd be best off selling the tall deck block and getting a std deck block. It'll be a lot cheaper overall.

You have to use an externally balanced harmonic balancer and the matching flywheel/flexplate if you want to use the 454 crank..you might want to think about the headers too as the tall block sits further to the side..
