Might be getting a 95 LT1 from a caprice.

The engine is out of a Caprice, 150K KM on it. It's from a 95 Caprice Cop Car and it has the wiring harness and computer from a buick roadmaster. I didnt know that the road masters had the LT1 also but I guess they do. Will this engine work with that computer? and if I did a small cam upgrade when rebuilding it, would I need a new chip or would it still run with that chip?
Also is it hard to get an LT1 into a 92RS??

Look at the sticky posts on top for the mechaincs of the swap. As for chip questions try the PROM board.

The wiring harnedd can be integrated with your existing one. If you upgrade the cam during the rebuild all you have to do is reprogram the existing PCM.
Many have completed the LT1 swap here. You can find just about anything you need to know if you scan the posts.
Good luck.

if its just a slightly larger cam upgrade the engine will run fine. I swapped from the stock LT1 cam to the Hotcam and ran it for about 3 months before I got the computer reprogrammed. ran great the whole time.
