Top End

So the next 350 is going into the Trans Am. Short Block is complete, 9 to 1 compression and I am hoping to run a comp cams 268h. So I am wondering what type of head/valve train I should be running with this combo to hit 325+ horse. No expensive aluminum goodies, sorry guys can't do AFR's . So I am pretty much open to any suggestions, hoping the top end will come out for less than a grand but lemme hear some opinions.

What type of induction?

You pick your cam to match other things that you use, you don't build a motor around a cam.

How about the L98 aluminium heads that came on the vette engine. I do not know flow numbers but they will save you some weight at 40 lbs least.

I already have the cam so it makes sense that if I want to hit the mid 300 horse range. So what type of intake and heads would flow best with that type of camshaft yeilding the most power. Keeping in mind that everything will remain hydraulic. The aluminum L98 heads seem like a good choice or perhaps even vortecs but with these heads would porting be necessary and stock how well will they flow at 6000 rpm? Also what type of intake would be best?

I would do porting regardless of what heads you end up with. Since you have them off it just makes good sense. If you are looking to make power up top you need a mini ram or LT1 style intake.

As far as cams go there are several options available. I would decide on the heads first then select the cam. Remember bigger cams do not nessicarily make you go faster.
