You will really need to get your pcm reprogrammed because of all the little things that can trigger a SES light. So while they are at it have them delete the VATS.

You can get the vats bypass module on ebay, it retails at 45$.
It will work without any problems, the only thing you need to do is to ground the starter enable relay because that's one function the vats does.
