new & confused about Fuel Inj
I have worked on some older cars but not much with Fuel Injection. I am planning a swap for a 89 2.8 firebird. I have found 2 complete cars for donors and don't know which to choose. A 1987 fuel injected 350 automatic camaro for $1100 and a 94 LT1 automatic camaro for $1800. My question is will the LT1 be a lot more difficult to swap with the Fuel Inj and wiring swap or are they both equally difficult. Has anyone carbed a LT1 or does that really hurt the performance and would the LT1 intake work with a carb. I have read many of the previous threads and just wanted a little more input. I would prefer the LT1 but I am not sold on it if it is over my head as a beginner with swapping fuel injection and wiring.

Assuming the '87 Has a TPI, then that would probably be easier. BUT, the LT1 is a much MUCH better engine. The LT1 swap will be a little more complex I think, but well worth the effort. I Haven't done an EFI swap either, so I can't answer alot of questions about it, but there are very many people here who have done the LT1 swap, some more experienced than others. Seems to me that the LT1 swap is a bit harder than a TPI swap, but the LT1 is a far superior engine, and the swap isn't too much for most people who have some experience with engine swapping.
