Putting in a Vortec6000
First, arent they the same block as the LS1, and vortec4800, and vortec5300???? I have a great chance to pick up a Vortec6000 for $2000 with ecm/wiring harness. Just want to know if anybody has tried this yet or if the 4L60-E would bolt up.....and intake wise...if the LS6 intake would work. I think that would be a great setup in a Z28 for everyday driving. Comments, suggestions??? Ideas??

the block is the same as the LS1... BUT... BUT BUT BUT... the LS1 intake "will" fit.. but you will loose HP...
i have a Yukon Denali with the same engine and i my friend who works at the GMC dealership is the head mechanic.. they do custom work, superchargers, ect. on these engines. i wanted to also do the same thing, but he said they tried that... dyno'd it , and they lost 23 HP at peak.... not to mention you see all the connections on top of that intake...well the LS1 doesnt have that, so they have to be rewired. big problems, no payoff...
oh and on a side note.. that intake is going to be too tall for a stock hood.. you're going to need a cowl.
