86 2.8L to 91 305 swap what do i need to do?

Subject says it all. I have a '91 RS that was run over by a semi... body is trashed but somehow the engine transmission and everything is good. We drove it up the trailer so we know it works still. What I need to know is other than removing all the wiring, ECM, VATS, and anything electrical atatched to the Camaro is there anything we need to do to the bird to get the engine in there? Keep in mind that I have the entire '91 to work from. All that is bad on it is body pannels. I will be swaping the engine, transmission and driveshaft from the '91. Will I need to do any fabrication to the Firebird to make this work as far as welding or cutting anything?

Often discussed.

Everything you mentioned needs to be changed except the driveshaft (they're identical). And everything that is attached to or supporting the engine like the hoses, belts, exhaust; not sure but probably some fuel things (in-tank fuel pumps operate at different pressures - just change the tanks). Nothing needs to be fabricated, but you'll wonder as you change those engine mounts attached to the front crossmember. You might just consider changing the crossmembers over with the engine attached, since the nuts are about impossible to get to for those engine mounts, and the springs & sway bar should be changed, anyway.

Change the tach. Except 'Maro & 'Bird tachs aren't the same.

Hope you love this 'Bird before you get started on this. You'll hate it while you're going through this process. In a couple of years you'll probably like it again - well, maybe sooner, you'll like the new power.
