fuel pump problem
fuel pump problem
I cant get my fuel pump to turn on. I have pwer on the orange wire at the relay and the ground works. None of the other wires are hot even when the ignition is on. I just swapped motors and cant get it runnin. All the fuses are good. Any suggestions? Thanks
if you eliminated the ecm, which i assume you did for i know you did not swap another 305 in there. i guess you are running a carb, correct. if so, the relay is on the exterior firewall on the drivers side, there are two. The one with the gray wire, red, orange and green and white is the fuel pump relay. i am not sure about the exact color of the wires, but i'm sure about the gray and green and white one, the gray is the one that powers the pump in the tank. the green and white is from the ecm, cut and splice the green and white and power going into the relay, it comes from the ecm to allow fuel, with 18 gauge wire plugged into the ignition port on your fuse block under drivers side kick panel with a spade connector. or if you can find the gray wire underneath the door molding on the drivers side power that the same way, thats from the relay powering the pump. there are two other wires along with it, a ground and the fuel gage sender.
