Head question

I'm looking to purchase some new heads, but I'm not real sure on which intake runner size to get. I have a 406, with about 10.1 :1, 230/236 @ .050. I have been running 200cc intake runners with a set of Dart pro 1's, I am probably going to buy another set of the darts, I liked them for the most part, but I am kind of up in the air about whether to get 200 or 215 runners. It has good torque now with the 200's but I didn't know if they mightt be a little small for my application. Any of you engine builders have any advice I would love to hear it. Or if you have had good luck with another set of heads let me know and I will consider them. Also, the car does see considerable amount of track time. I shift the car right around 6K if that helps. Thanks guys

completely off topic

Just curious, what kind of times are you running with that setup? Also, what intake and fuel delivery are you using? I'm curious because I have a similar engine and was considering a head swap. Currently, I'm running stock castings with larger valves (2.02/1.6).

I'm running a victor jr w/ a 2 inch spacer and a holley 750. The car will run about a 12.70 but I still have some bugs to work out of the suspension and tuning to do with the carb, timing, etc. I just wanted to know what other people thought about the heads, I think I am going to get the 200's again but would like to hear some other opinions.

Considering you have a relatively mild camshaft, I personally would stay with the 200 cc intake ports. Those larger port heads are designed for higher RPM power. I think you'd be giving up too much low/mid range torque to benefit from the increase in top end power.
