305 tbi to 350 tbi
Now is this a good engine swap? The engine i am hopeing to build will be around 300+. I am trying to keep my car about as stock looking. I don't really have to money or the experience or the money for an lt-1/t-56. How hard will this be and has anybody done it. I will get the t-5 rebuild kit from from g-force be hind it.
The swap itself is not that hard at all if you don't mind pulling an engine out and putting one it. You will more than likely need to have a new comp chip burnt for the new combo in the 350. But my opinion is don't waste your time with that swap. Using the TBI on the 350 will not render much performance gains. I have seen it done and what I have seen the swap doesn't have a real high HP potential. If you are looking to upgrade to more power, just go with a carb and throw that TBI unit in the trash can. You might be able to buy a new "high performance" TBI that will run a bit better but they are just not that performance minded. Thats just what I have seen and my opinion. Good Luck on your swap
