what is an lt1 3rd gen worth
I'm thinking of selling my Iroc to finance another car project. I was wondering what you guys think a fair and relistic price would be.
It was origionally an 88 350 tpi car with t tops ,4wheel disks, tilt,cruise,16 inch wheels,ac ect.
It presently has 70k on it with a low milage lt1 with ported heads, a hot cam kit, slp headers, flowmaster cat back, built 4l60e, with vigi 3200, 373 precision gears, ect it is making about 350 at the wheels and passes emissions without a problem. It also has custom subframe connectors and a stb. as well as a complete set of autometer Phantom guages. It has great drivability. The body and paint are great with now rust or body damage, and the car has never been in any type of accident.
Based on this info what do you think it's worth
Thanks,
Kory

Tough call. Without seeing it I would guess about 7-12k. Depends on the what else has been done to the car. Unfortunately, you never get back what you put into it.
I would probably need my head examined if I figured out what I spent on my LS1 conversion vs what I could sell it for.
Nevertheless, I am sure there is someone out there would appreciate what you have. High tech swaps rule!
Good luck with your decision.

I agree that is a tough call. A 68 camaro with an Lt1 conversion went for $39000 at the Barret-Jackson auctions, which suprised me, but obviously our cars are not worth nearly that much.
I would say it depends on the general quality of the car and how well the installation of the LT1 was performed. And I can't say I've ever seen a 3rd gen LT1 car for sale, so there isn't really much to go by.

Thanks for the input guys.
I really hate to think of selling it. I have spent the last 3 years refining it. Now I got a killer deal on another car. I cannot bring myself to drive the iroc in the winter so I need to get rid of it and buy a dependable winter/daily driver.

I piad 350 for the worst tune known to man.
The car never ran right and was down on torque to the tune of 30ftlbs at the wheels. It also pegged the a/f at 10 on the dyno. I was chasing problems for 3 months. I finally met a guy who has tuner cat and he offered to tune the car. He had to pull the ed wright tune out of my computer because it was pcm locked. he couldn't alter it because of this. he started by flashing a stock 94 tune into my car . we drove it around a little and it ran great. it would blow the tires off and ran extremely smooth all the way to redline. Then he started modifying the tables for fuel and spark, as well as the tranny tables. the car runs much better all around with better driveability. I haven't had it back to the track yet but plan to in the next couple of weeks.
we looked at the ed wright tune once he had it in the lap top. they disabled the maf and input values into the computer for the 02 sensors instead of using them for feed back they didn't change the timing tables at all. The car was running in speed density mode and not using any of the block learn functions that gm built into the computer.
I know mail order tunes are not perfect but I cannot understand how those idiots cound sell that progam. Any hack could have done what they did.
