i would say first get you a victor jr. single plane........and at least an 850cfm mech. sec. holley......heads are a good choice they have good flow numbers...as for as cam i suggest a competition cams #12-609-5 ...(285B6) it has 250 deg int at .050....260 deg exh. at .050 ..intake valve lift is .532.....exhaust vavle lift is .555 with a 106 deg. lobe sep. angle this is a very good cam for makin power get you a 3500 converter and a 350 turbo and 3.73 that will get you movin

No particular excuse for a single plane these days. But, if stall is high enough, probably won't hurt anything.

Might as well go 383 while you're at it. More torque, more power, at lower RPMs (helps things like valve train last longer).

Compression ratio depends upon what kind of gas you're willing to burn. If you want to stick with pump gas, don't go above 11:1. If you're willing to buy racing gas, then 12:1 is fine.

Talk to the cam manufacturers about their recommendations. They'll get you on the right track. In my opinion, you build the whole engine around the cam, so get that right before you start buying any of the rest of the pieces.
