i was wondering, what would be a fair price to swap a 2.8 w/ a 3.4 in an automatic '85 camaro? just price for labor.

 

depends on what your mechanic charges...id guess about $3-400,but again it depends

 

The 3.4 isn't a direct bolt-in for the 2.8. I'm not sure of all the details (it's been discussed on the V6 forum), but that's going to increase the costs and decrease the chances a shop will want to tackle it.

But, it is a worthwhile undertaking for the hobbiest. You start paying a shop to work on 19-year-old cars, the cost-to-value ratio starts getting ugly.

today i had a customer spend over $400 on 4 tires, an engine flush and an oil change

custom swaps like this are gonna be in the quad digits

 

How much for the rolling chassis, any t-tops?? whats in the rearend? the link didnt work... had an error... oh and bud, I have a 3.4, dont waste a grand or so having one installed in a third gen... please for camaros sake, and yours, dont!. I'll sell you my 355 L98 =) I want an LS1. Just need to figure out what to do with my L98, hey guys... and the cute kitten girl, I put my polished Iroc 16" rims on my 93 black camaro today =), all blacked out car and all, it looks killer with those rims, I should get a pic.
