Engine build up Questions.
:hail: Oh Great and Wise Bow Tie Gods:hail:
I seek your Devine Influences. :lala: :lala: :lala:
I am questioning my origional plan. LT1/6spd swap.
BTW Its a 91 Rs Camaro. 305tbi-700r4.
After reading the LT1 swap info on here.
Which took me a few hours a night after I got home from work. There realy is alot of good info in these boards.
Anyways, I see that there is going to be alot of work needed to keep my A/C with the LT1.
And I think I could get as much, if not more, power out of a TPI or Super Ram set up. If I went with the TPI setup I would be able to use my origional accessory set up. That way I wouldnt have to do any work on the A/C system.
And it would make Visual inspection easier. I live in California
How would you guys build up a TPI or Super Ram motor?
I want daily drivability. Good mid range power. Looking to get 375-425 HP.
Im able to budget $2500.00-$4000.00 on the longblock.
And then whatever money the Fuel system costs.
I realy want a stout motor. It would be awsome to have the trust in my car that once I change the drive train it will not leave me hangin.
I am going to go to a few of the local HP engine builders in town and see what they have to offer.
Again, Any info or advice would be greatly appreciated.

You're not getting that much power out of TPI, without some kind of power adder (blower or nitrous); so if you want that kind of HP, you're pretty much stuck with the SuperRam.
People get 400ish out of that on top of a 383 with really good heads ($$$$$) and one of the LPE cams that was designed as a companion to the SR. Since you're in California, that's probably the best thing to do, being the only smog-legal thing you can put in it short of a full LT1 or LS1 swap.
