I've been planning on doing an engine build up for awhile now. I have the idea of how things shoudl go and what things ae needed but I dont really knwo why I should pick say one cam over another or which heads are the best and why. Is there a book out that that talks about choosing parts and why? I did a search and a few titles came up that Im gonna run with, but from the threads it seems the books are more of a step by step on the acutally building of the engine. I'm looking for alittle more reason behind it.

If anyone has any helpfull info or books that would be great. I want to get as much brain food on this before I start kickin my self in the butt.
