want to swap 305 to a 350 BUT
I have a 92 camaro that I got from a "friend".All it needed was a fuel-pump, so I thought. Now it runs and I got blow-by. I got alot of smoke coming out of the air cleaner. So my ? Can you put a 350 in a camaro and still make it pass inspection.....Can I just put a carb on it? Or can I get away with putting a tbi back on it? With out changing the wiring.and how nuts can I go? Any thoughts or part ideas or part#. Or pic.s of your swaps. PLEASE ONLY 305 TO 350s. Thanks:yourock:

You should be able to pass with a 350 tbi as long as you keep all the emissions equipment , and you dont go with a radical engine I dont know about the carb thing, they put 350 tbi's in trucks so you should be able to pass inspection. But to make the swap work you will have to change your chip out for a chip from a car originally equiped with a 350, I have the cop car caprice chip in my car , and also youll want to get injectors from a 350 tbi truck ,otherwise your air fuel ration will be off.I did the swap and my car runs good ,but I didnt want to mess with the emissions stuff so I ditched it all.

Best thing to do is program your own chip. Typically you can not pass inspection if you go from a fuel injection setup to a carbed setup. As you would lose your EGR valve and other emissions equipment specific to the fuel injection cars.
I think it's federal law that you can not remove any emissions equipment from a vehicle that will be driven on the road.

I doubt he can go to a carb setup, since no carbs were available in '92, but he probably could swap on a TPI set or maybe another emitions-legal FI system, like an LT1 intake, or an aftermarket one, like Holley makes.
