my journey begins

Hey everyone, I am going to start my LT1 swap into my 87 carbed 5 speed camaro soon. I should be getting the LT1 and 6 speed later this week. I wont be doing very much swapping quite yet, but at least I will have the motor and tranny, then I can start collecting parts.

My plan is to get the motor and transmission, and start figuring out everything I need, Im going to get a hotcam kit and headers, a 4th gen radiator, A/C delete pulley(part number??). Nitrous is probably in the foreseeable future as well

what do I need as far as fuel pumping? I have a mechanical fuel pump in my car currently, any recommendations about inline fuel pumps out there? Im not sure about gph and pressure and that stuff, what about my throttle cable? and from what ive read there is a mechanical to electric speedometer changer, so Im guessing ill need that.

does the transmission mount from the 4th gen bolt onto my frame at the right places? and will my driveshaft work?

thanks for any help, I hope I wont have to ask too many questions during this swap.

You have a few options for fuel delivery. Check out www.racetronix.com or supporting vendors for more details. I would reccomend modifying the fuel system for a return line and using the inline tank pump. I am running a walbro GSS340 which is a significant upgrade over teh stock pump. The advantage of running this system is the the fuel can circulate and stay cool. Otherwise you will have to modify the fuel rail on the LT1 setup.

As far as the trans mount read the page here at http://www.skulte.com/T56.html there is great information there.

Drive shaft will work.

Good luck.
