Swapping a carbed 350 into an 87trans am TPI... future project.

First some background
I have an 84 trans am, the body and interior are falling apart, the wiring is a mess, and I am starting to have electrical issues every other month or so. Major stuff like wires melting in the harness, dash controls not working, etc. So I was checking out the tech data page here on thirdgen and saw that 87 was the last year that had a carbed model.

So Ideally I would like to find a carbed 87TA to swap all my good parts into, but after searching 3 or 4 used car services online I haven't seen one. So I am probably going to end up with a TPI.

My question is what is involved in this swap.
Will I need a new wiring harness?
Will the computer be an issue (If possible I would like to totally remove the computer) but I need to be able to make the lockup tq work.
How much does the computer control on an 87TA TPI?
Will removing the computer cause interior things to not function (gauges, controls, etc)?

If you have a carbed 87TA for sale with a decent body and interior let me know

Check the Classifieds on this board for the "for sale" part.

I'm not sure about TA electronics. I'll have to defer to others on that.

If I had a TPI car, I'd keep it TPI, though. Just my personal opinion (I do have a nearly-complete TPI set-up in the garage attic).

I dont really want to deal with the TPI, I would rather just turn screws to tune stuff, instead of having to "chip" the car.
