TPI engine swapping questions

ok current setup 89 305 TPI

possible plan: take a carbed 350 don't know what it is from basic stock except headers. I was wondering can i swap my TPI setup from the 305 to 350 no problem? and also if i can can i aslo use the same computer or what would i need a new computer or just a chip burn or what and will my current wiring harness work?

the tpi will switch over, you might have to modify the center intake bolts (depending on the year of heads and intake)

the same harness will work, and you can use the same computer and chip. although if you want all out performance, a custom chip will be in order.

You will also need to change your knock sensor. The 350 and the 305 are not the same. The 350 has a differant frequency than the 305 has. You should also change your chip. The parameters FOR THE FUEL CURVE And timing are different. The old one will work but you will not bennefit as far as performance with the 305 chip

It's very easy. Just disconnect the connector then unscrew the knock sensor and put the new one in it's place.

When you remove the Knock sensor the water and antifreeze is going to pour out this can not be avoided. Just be sure to refill your radiator before you start it up. The Knock sensor is located on the passenger side of the block, right below the exhaust, It has a 1 wire connector attached to it. You will recognize it from the new one you have to replace it with.

Hope this helps.
