Another swap going on in our group too

he has an 84 Z-28 with a 350 4bbl he blew up....

want's to drop in his 454 TBI from his wrecked ss-1500.

amnd he want's to put a 5spd & 6spd Manaul tran's behind this 454 of his.

he also running a 9" moser rear end with 3.73 gear's...

any good info to assist him on his swapp will be much appriecated... :hail: :hail:

I would suggest to pass on the SS454.They came with restrictive heads and intake .It will be OK if you just want a 350 horsepower big block though..

BTW the serpentine system with accesories of those motors wont fit...I tried

HE din't care too much about ho he just want's a BBC in it ....

he just already had the 454TBI ready to run he dose have a Hald built 427 truck block...

 

I`d go for it! dont use the hooker swap headers though, manifolds off an 8100 fit read it on another post, motor mounts,trans positon,heater box all stay! acc drive will be a hurrdle, I`ve got a big block with a long water pump in mine, the steer gear gets tight, I used a 4cyl camaro pump with remote res.
Its been fine. 3 core rad at least and two fans and spring helpers.
my front tires have 2100#`s on em. Oh and REALLY big brakes, I did the 1LE thing for around 650.00 check my link if you want to see those nasty swap headers.
