New 460hp Super Ram + 4100lb car = ET?
Have a 460hp super ram 355, AFR heads, etc.. being installed.
The car (convertible) + driver is probably right around 4100lbs. I know this is a very hard question to answer, but let's assume a good 60 foot time. Am I at 12.4999 with this combo? I know I would have to be at least 12.9999999, but I want to see how much better I can get. Tranny will be pro-built, AL driveshaft, Every suspension upgrade you can think of (LCA's, wonderbar, SFC's, to name a few) Any estimates?

i'm going to say no on this one.
the vette is 405HP and not running 12.50s with about 600 pounds less. so if we took into account 55 HP more and 600 pounds more, you "might" hit it but who knows.

Would any of our guesses actually affect the ET? That is, does it really matter what anybody here guesses it is?
How do you know this is a "460 HP motor"? Had it on the engine dyno in "installed" trim?
4100 lbs sounds way heavy. I'd expect more in the 3800 lb range.
Go weigh your car, and run it at the track; and come back and tell us what it runs, instead of getting a whole bunch of stupid meaningless guesses based on guesses.
There's HP vs. ET calculators all over the Net. You can plug in your "guess" numbers and get an equally invalid "guess" from any of them, which will almost certainly be faster than your car will actually run. It always seems to work out that way.

Sorry I didn't have a chance to respond. Aol has some stupid SPAM filters going and it was throwing all of my Thirdgen reply's in that folder. Anyway to get my old numbers I used Desktop Dyno
To get correct numbers I used Steve Spohn's Equation:
HP = .2575 x CFM (@ 28" of water) x number of cylinders
I am flowing 205/282 at 28" (at .500 lift).
.2575 x 205 x 8 = 422.3. Now I was using Exhaust there, as the equastion is not clear on which to use, however if I used intake it would put me well over 580hp, and that seems way too unrealistic.
However, the convertibles I believe are 3850 right off the bat (though I haven't seen my door for awhile) I am a big guy and we are easily at 4100+ if the car is at 3850. Also my listed 3850 is for an SC convertible, which is stripped of ANY power accessories. All things that I am presently adding. Though I am getting a fiberglass hood, so I will have to get a final weight, but that is why I was giving a basic overview to see if this engine that costs me an arm and a leg would push that car into 12 territory.
Now I am doing a ground up resto on this car and replacing everything I can with either new or upgraded, IE For example, I have over $2,500 going into the suspension right now and I am not even done buying, nor is that tax and shipping. But like RB83L69 said I will probably have to play, wait, and see. I figure I can get one run on it before they throw me off of the track for not having a cage

i belive when i was watching one of the movies on the movie section about third gens that the convertables were as light as the normal ones because the lack of the rear glass even though they had extra supports. The sticker on the side of the door i dont belive its any were accurate your weight of your car.

If you want to know how much it weighs, weigh it. Either at the track or at a scale by the highway.
