Not quit sure with carb. But a multiport set-up with aluminum heads can run up to 10.8:1. I am sure carb is a bit lower because the timing adjustments aren't as fast along with many other advatanges that FI utilizes that carb doesn't. How old is your set-up? Does it have a knock sensor?

No knock sensor. Just good old GM spec advance curve and premium fuel! I think that 10.4 to 1 with a ZZ4 and thin head gaskets would be asking for trouble. 10 to 1 on a 90 degree day is plenty in my opinion.
