OH *** NO, NO, I need
some real help. I was forced to let my saphire blue z go a couple years ago(%@$#*& divorce) and have been driving my other car (toyota supra) ever since. I have been dying to get my hands on another 3rd gen. I have a friend that blew the motor on a 91 rs v6, and is willing to let me have it to get his wife off of his back. The car is in great shape. Would it be worth the trouble to do a v8 swap?? I have a goodwrench 350 waiting for a home(another deal too good to pass up). Or should I let it go & find a v8 car?

I would do the swap as well. You have another car to drive in the meantime while you gather all of the stuff you need. Sounds like you have the most expensive stuff out of the way already. You are halfway there. Well not really, but you are on your way to a good start.

You're going to need a bunch of parts that are V8-specific that you can't just go down to the parts store and buy. So, even if you use this Goodwrench engine, you'd be miles ahead if you went out and bought another factory V8 donor car so you have all these parts (little things like transmission, engine mounts - this list is long & distinguished).

Well, im not sure about transmission mounts and such of what your gonna use. But the little things really aren't even that bad. You said it was a crate motor but all the little things you'll probably need with a v8 donor car too, unless the care motor can use the same fuel lines, power steering, etc... Im not sure if it can. I say do it, thier really isn't that much you need. The 90-92 v6 cars came with the TPI fuel pump.
You'll need v8 clamshells, which can be had at a junkyard for cheap (got mine from a 98 silverado, paid 15 bucks I think). New engine mounts, $20 bucks for the rubber ones at autozone, thats what I went with, I didn't want to go poly because of the vibrations, I could have but figured i'd rebuild the motor soon and if anything i'll use the poly's then.
You'll need a 90-92 v8 gauge cluster which can be gotten for very cheap, otherwise your rpm and believe speedo will read incorrectly. I think you'd be fine with the single fan if you don't run ac or the heater, but definatley get a dual fan setup. Need an extra relay for that since the v6 only comes with one.
Thats about it really, except for transmission. Everything else on the v6 will be fine, might need new springs but woopdee doo. Thier really isn't as many little things as people say thier are =/.

3.4 . It'll take a couple of hours. You wont need a new trans either.

Im doing the swap, and I say there isn't, I am going to Lt1 so mostly everything im buyign would have had to have been gotten with a v8 car starting out.

Jeez.. come on..
Yank that v6 drivetrain outta there, and drop the 350 in. Sure you'd need v8 specific things, like brackets, alternator, etc. motor mounts. TRANSMISSION - duh? but come on.
Thats pretty much the list of what people replace ANYWAY when doing a new motor. (including the brackets if you wanna go serpentine).
gimme a break.
