I swapped a carbed 355 into my 91 camaro(previously 305 tbi). I got msd 6al ignition, and aftermarket non computer controlled hei distributor. I read in an article that the large red/pink wire from the old coil goes to the BATT connection on the distributor. But the msd instructions say to route the red wire from the ignition box to that same wire. What do I do?

 

that large pink wire goes from the original coil to the key on/off

take the small red wire in the msd (ignition wire) and solder it to the large pink wire..that pink is the old coil wire so when u key up power will be sent trhough that right into the box....i have mine like and everyhting is cosher

 

do i need to run a wire from it to the distributor as well?
