1994 LT1 Into a 85 Iroc Z28 camaro HELP

I am doing a swap from a 94 LT1 (Vette) into a 85 Iroc Z28 camaro!
Help Please
This will work for the 92-95 LT1s
If you wire the following correctly your car will start on the first attempt.
F-BODY LT1 ENGINE WIRING HARNESS. ( The LT1 wiring for dummies thred)
Is this post above, the LT1 F-body wiring for dummies, the same as the 94 vette LT1 wiring harness?

I dont have to modify the cross member with this engine right?
I need hedders, high volume fuel pump, and what else?
Does this engine have VSS, maf,the VAT I here about?
How do I work with all this? Can I bypass the VAT?
Hey camaro gu-ru's I really need help here, sooo please all the help you can give will be greatly appreciated.
I need a working swap guide, all the ones I have seen are incomplete.

Can some one write me and tell me all they had to do for this swap, pretty Please. My Email is corey.d.miller@us.army.mil

OR post reply here anything I will check both

An Army guy huh? No wonder you don't know what the search feature is for. Just kidding man. Welcome to the board. I'll be the first to say that the LT1 swap is definitely doable. Do a search and you can find all the information you want, there are over 30 of us on this board that have done it. Also check out this site, it's not finished yet, but its got some basic information up so far and will help you out as I get it finished up. Once you search and check out that site, any questions that haven't been answered post them here and we'll be more than happy to help. Also check the sticky at the top of this forum for some good information too.

But to go ahead and answer your questions.

1. Yes, you'll need a new fuel pump. A 3rd gen TPI pump will do fine up to 450 hp.
2. You can use F-Body LT1 exhaust manifolds or any header made for a 3rd gen, the exhaust ports are the same.
3. There are only minor differences between the wiring harnesses, so anything discussed in that thread will apply, just the color of the wires or the pin location may be slightly different. You will want to get the wiring diagrams for the '94 Vette to crosscheck to make sure.
4. VATS can be programmed out of the computer so that you can bypass it.
5. Yes, your engine has a VSS and MAF. MAF is no problem, but you will need an electronic-to-cable speedo drive if you swap transmissions or make your own VSS output if you keep yours.

No, you don't have to modify the crossmember. The 'vette lt1 is great choice.

It should. There are a few extra sensors on the Vette that are not on the f-body versions.
Also, you will need to have the PCM reprogrammed with an F-body program since the Vette one is vastly different. I believe it some type of body computer that shares some of the engine management duties. Ion at www.madz28.com can explain this much better.
You may be one of the first to try using the vette harness so there may not be much help. I chose to use a Painless harness and chopped my Vette harness up to use for other things throughout the swap. You may as well give it a shot and if it doesn't, f-body harness' always pop up on Ebay from time to time. I think I saw one www.camaroz28.com just a few weeks ago.

Different wiring?

Check out these schematics from the 94 Vett LT1, I have compared them with the ones from the F-Body LT1 and there is a big difference. For One I dont see the VAT system on this one, maybe it does not have it?

Well I tried to put the schematics on via attachment dont guess it worked, will do later

This would be too difficult to figure out with out actually having the harnesses in front of you. Like it was mentioned before, you can try something that hasn't been done before and it may or may not work. But, you'll have helped the rest of those interested in doing this swap in that they'll know if it is or is not possible to use the vette harness. If you don't want to go that route, get an aftermarket harness or an f-body harness.
