hi there

i would like to swap my 305 to a 350 H.O. from sdpc, anybody using this engine ? how much hp does it produce? sdpc mentions 330 hp, but overhere no headers allowed, so what about sanderson headers, looks pretty stock.

i was told that the tranny th-700r4 should handle it, i think without headers the engine produces 290 hp (approx. 230rwhp), am i right ?

thanks for any support

For reference, the 355 HP ZZ4 produced 308 HP in the HO 350 Conversion Kit, which used either LG4 or L69 as the base. So, you'll probably have to figure on losing more than 40 HP with the 350 HO.

Don't forget you're going to need a different intake manifold. The LG4 unit won't work.

Headers aren't allowed? That's weird. I don't know about Sanderson headers, never heard any talk about them. It is possible to take manifolds like L69 and clean them up with a die grinder and improve flow. LG4 manifolds wouldn't be worth it, though.

Actually, if they will work on a 3rdgen, try to get a set of exhaust manifolds from a '84 or so Corvette engine. They were basically shorty headers that were installed by GM.

Look for the Corvette manifolds first ***MUST be '84+***
