LT1 Swap, engine runs for about 2-3 secs then dies.
Finally got the car running.. but only for about 2-3 secs then it dies.
What I didn't do yet is remove VATs from PCM.. or anything else from it.. But I have the 89 VATs still hooked up..
I don't think it is working though.. (was b4 I started swap) .. I have to give the starter relay gnd to start.. vats should be doing this..
Also have O2 sensors pluged in but not into exhaust yet.
Last, I have no idea where the 2nd vacuum type line from the opti goes.. I got the 1 from the intake with the fileter and valves on it.. don't know where other goes.
Oh and PCM is for an automatic and I have a T5..
I presume I have to be patient and wait for my cable in order to get rid of the VATS.. but if not does anyone have any input?

hmm...its definitely VATS. apparently its not the same signal......? I'm not sure there is anything you can do until you get the cable.
I've got a stock T-56 program I can send and go ahead and get rid of VATs while I'm at it. How long till your cable gets there?
One of the vacuum lines goes to a vacuum port on the the intake, the other goes to a hole in the intake bellows.

cable is supposed to be here... was ordered 2.5 wks ago. i metered the fuel enable signal wire from vats to pcm.. there's like 8v on it until you turn key to on and push clutch in.. then its 3V .. my prints say it should be 2.5V .. I may be missing something yet.. hopefully my cable comes today

oh, and no tach.. and I spliced into the tach out wire from pcm.. perhaps I'll have to go with pasky and splic into the coil.
so the tach doesn't work using the tach output from the PCM? Thats strange, everything says it should. I'll see if I can find what the difference is between the 3rd and 4th gen tachs.

Yea they use a goofy cluster I think. On the fourthgen guys who install aftermarket tachs, they have to splice into the coil. Also, I agree with texas, that sounds like vats. Sounds to me like the injectors are not firing.
